Red Clover is prescribed for a multitude of ailments by traditional herbalists. It is traditionally used for cancer therapy and as a blood thinner as well as for skin complaints, coughs, cold and congestion. Other described uses in the herbal literature discusses red clover for cancer prevention, indigestion, high cholesterol, whooping cough, cough, asthma, bronchitis, and sexually transmitted diseases (STDs). It is a powerful herb for women, though must not be used during pregnancy or nursing: Some women use red clover for menopausal symptoms of hot flashes; breast pain or tenderness for (mastalgia); and for premenstrual syndrome (PMS). Not recommended while taking blood thinning medication.*
